i want to put videos on windows movie maker but they are not the right type (avi, mpg, m1v...)

i alredy tried changing the extension but it doesnt work, what else can i doHow do i change the format of a video file?

You have to re-encode the video to avi...Anytime you change formats they have to be converted...it's not just a file ext name.

Its simply because you dont have the right codecs. Download and install the codecs first. You can get it here,

Even the converters wont work if you odnt have codecs.
