How do i change video format?

im making a video for my friend but i need to edit loads of small vidoes from my phone and add music and stuff but at the moment the file type is mpg4 im not sure what i need to change it to for it o work on windows movie maker or something better if any of you know one thats free.How do i change video format?

Get yourself a free video converter, I use OJOSoft but you need to pay for this. Also if it's going onto Youtube you'll need to convert it to .FLV. To open it in Windows Movie Maker it needs to be .AVI. As far as I know, that is.How do i change video format?
sometimes if u save the file to ur desktop then right click on it, change the name to what ever you wnat .mpg or .avi or what ever file you wnat it will ask you if you wnat it converted to that, and will do it for you.
