How to change the video type on a digital camera?

My small camera saves the video files in .MOV format.

Im wondering if theres any way to change the way it saves them to a .WMV or WAV file IN the camera, instead of having to use converting software.

Any information or suggestions/advice are welcome.

Thanks in advance! How to change the video type on a digital camera?
There is no way to change the video file type on any consumer camera, in the camera, whether a proper video camera or a still camera with a video feature included.

Here is what Microsoft says about editing video formats other than WMV files using Windows Movie Maker

Q.How can I edit AVI or DivX files in Movie Maker when I cannot seek from one frame to another?

A. After importing the AVI or DivX video file into Movie Maker, add it to the storyboard/timeline without editing the video, and then save the movie as a WMV file by using the Save Movie Wizard in Movie Maker. You can then import the resulting WMV file into Movie Maker and edit the file.

In the end you will have to do one of two things when buying your next camera. First check and see what format the camera saves those files and two if you have the proper software to actually edit the video.

Commercial video editing programs ($700 and up) can edit just about any video format, but consumer editors or %26quot;free%26quot; editors are quite restricted. How to change the video type on a digital camera?

I recommend one converter which can convert MTS to AVI, MTS to MP4, MTS to VOB, MTS to iPod/iPhone and others. What's more, this MTS Converter accepts TS, M2TS, MOD, TOD, WMV, FLV, AVI, MP4, 3GP, RM and so on as the inputing formats.

You can do it as follows, Hope it can help you

You can't.

Go to CNET downloads, however, and search for the Youtube Downloader. It works in converting many files jsut as good as the expensive video editing programs.
