How do I change the format my digital camera videos upload to my computer to?

System: Windows Vista

Camera: Kodak Easyshare

The other day I got a dialogue box about something changing my video formats to Quicktime, and without thinking about it I accepted.

But when I tried putting a video on Windows Movie Maker, it wouldn't show up because I guess WMM can't read Quicktime format video? It wouldn't let me upload it to WMM.

SO, how do I change the default settings that change how my videos upload from my camera to a format readable by Movie Maker? CAN I?

Because I have file converters up the wazoo, but I didn't have to do that before. Now I have to wait an hour for a %26lt;10 minute clip of footage to convert to AVI or what have you.

So if you know how to fix this, I'd really appreciate your response. ThanksHow do I change the format my digital camera videos upload to my computer to?

To be simple, you should get a video converter software and convert the Quicktime video to .avi or .wmv file.

Many camera shoots videos and keep videos in Quicktime (.mov) files such as Canon, Kodak, Pentax, etc. But Windows Movie Maker accepts video files like .wmv, .avi, etc, rather than files with extension name of .mov. So in order to make the video compatible with WMM, it is necessary to change the video format from .mov to .avi or .wmv (the quality of .avi will be better than .wmv, and the size of the former will be larger than .latter.).How do I change the format my digital camera videos upload to my computer to?
the digital camera 's format is quicktime (mov),and windows movie maker support asf,avi ,wmv but no mov.

so what you really need is just a converter, convert the MOVs to avi ,then you can edit it in WMM.
