How do i change format of a video?

hello! i just bought the new samsung dual view camera (with the screen in the front) and i made a hair tutorial and now when i uploaded it, it was like multi colored and it had like two weird squares at the bottom when i played it using windows media player!!! and when i try and view it on the windows movie maker it just plays the sound with a black screen! i really need someone to help me plz! and if i need to change the format how do i do so?How do i change format of a video?

Perhaps Movie Maker can't determine your video file normally. It supports avi and wmv video formats.
