How to change video clips to music clips for ipod touch?

I downloaded and converted some video clips from youtube to my ipod using a converter. But a couple of the you tube video clips are not moving images it just stays stuck on one picture (its a talk radio show clip, not a real video clip). However, when I converted it to my ipod I had to store it as a video file, (i guess because it came from youtube) and that is the only way I can listen to it, and doing this drains my ipod battery because it believes it is an actual video, but its not.. How can I convert an already downloaded and converted video clip from youtube to a music clip to listen to as music? I tried vixy.net, but it still only downloaded it in video format.
