How do I change the format of a video to put on youtube?

I never posted a video on youtube before and i finally found a program thats free and works but for the format there is only .wp3 thats the only format there is so how do i upload it on youtube

you need to export it as .avi file.

.wp3 is just the project file of the Windows movie maker. So, go back to Windows movie maker and try save as or export and select (in both case) the right format (.avi).

Beware of the size of resulting file
