i recently recorded a video of me with my friends, and i tried to put it in to windows movie maker, and it just comes up with the sound, and a grey screen with a red X.

you have to convert it into a file that windows movie maker can read. I personally use Any Video Converter (AVC), you can download it for free from here: http://www.any-video-converter.com/produ
Then you select what sort of file you want to convert it into, such as wmpg, which is readable by windows movie maker. Then you can just upload it into windows movie maker and it should be readable.How do i change the format of my video?
well you can get a converter such as AVS Video converter. or just look for some video converters online
