How can I change the format of my video files?

I had a video camera a while ago, and it came with a Ulead editing program. I love the program and it has everything I need when I'm making my videos. I just recently got a new video camera. After uploading some videos from the new camera to my computer, it say they were all in %26quot;.MOV%26quot; format. None of the programs on my computer can recognize it (not windows media player, windows movie maker, ulead video editer, Real player, etc.) So I installed the cd that the camera came with. The program I installed is the ONLY program compatible with the videos shot on that camera. And the editing software that came with this new camera is ****. It's horrible, and I hate it. Does anyone have any idea how I can convert the %26quot;.mov%26quot; files to like, ANY OTHER FILE that the programs on my Windows XP computer will recognize?
